Lamp Project
Preliminary Designs October 10-14
Inventor work in progress October 17 - 21 I am working through the clock modeling on my own, I'm a bit slower than the class, but I really want to try to model it on my own :) the images are lamp clamp, plastic hook sketch, and plastic screw sketch respectively.
Clock Project
Clock Design August 17th - September -- 2022 - Engineering Surveys Inspiration images
Design Hand Sketch Ideas
Prototype #1 This model had a few issues, the material was not the proper thickness that the actual materials would be, and the gap between the colored face and the clear face would not have been large enough for the clock hands. Also The top clip part did not fit over both faces because there was too big of a gap in height.
Prototype #2 This design is more accurate to the depth and width of the actual material, it also accounts for the height of the clock hands and the height of each face for the top clip.
Material Study no glue or adhesive of any sort was used, my entire project links together
Inventor Design we worked on modeling the motor pieces as well as my clock face designs. My design is not going to be hung up, so I did not include the hook in my motor assembly.
week of 9/5 I am working on exporting my files to the laser cutter and CNC so i can create my actual clock parts
Clock Fabrication Week This week I worked on the laser cutter and the CNC. I learned how to manipulate the settings to match the material I was using and how to set up, program, and run the CNC.
Final Product This is the final clock design, it has two faces, one colored and one clear. the clear face is removable, and the other wooden pieces are glued together for stability.
CNC Project August 12th 2022 - Engineering Surveys For this project I created an Auto CAD file and practiced joining items for the CNC software. Then I ran the design through the CNC machine. I then used hand tools to refine the texture and shape of the item and ended the project by painting and finishing it.
Key Chain Project August 12th 2022 - Engineering Surveys For this item I refreshed knowledge on Auto CAD by creating a simple key chain involving engraving and cutting. I ran the file through the laser cutter and documented the final product.
Tallest Tower Project August 5th 2022 - Engineering Surveys For this project we reviewed hand sketching and created 3 potential designs, then we chose one to develop in AutoCAD and Inventor. Unfortunately we were unable to use the laser cutter, so we had to hand create the cardboard model. The final height was 7.3 feet tall
